Partners in Implementing the GIAHS Activities
The FAO GIAHS Initiative implements dynamic conservation activities through technical cooperation and grants from the Global Environmental Facility, International Fund for Agricultural Development, Government of Germany, in-kind assistance from various international and national institutions, national governments, FAO in-house mechanisms and co-financing from institutions who have stake to GIAHS. FAO collaborates and works with national governments as lead national focal institutions and with the proactive participation of farming communities and other local organizations, such as youth organizations, women’s organizations, research centres and academes, producer groups and cooperatives, and other relevant organizations.
GIAHS networks and strategic partnerships between public and private sector shall be further established to promote inter-institutional, inter-region and inter-country collaboration to enhance and promote revitalization of agricultural heritage systems and its dynamic conservation.
